The Local Area

The surrounding area offer coastal walks, beautiful beaches, marine conservation for diving and boat trips. St Abbs is only 4 miles away and offers bird watching.

Coldingham is just 3 miles away. Here you will find most local services, and a safe sandy beach. The Priory is of great historical interest.

There is good fishing to be found locally with Coldingham Loch and the White Adder River.

Berwick-upon-Tweed with its Elizabethan walls is only 20 minutes from the cottages. Then you can go onto Holy Island then to Bamburgh. We are only 1 hour from the beautiful town of Alnwick where Hogswort Castle is based.

Edinburgh is only 1 hour away where you can see the historic castle and where the annual Tattoo is held. There are excellent shops and attractions..

There are good walks in the area including the local forest and close to the end of the Southern Upland Way. There is a marked cycle route passing the farm entrance. There are marked theme car routes within easy driving times.

There are numerous eating places nearby including The Anchor Inn at Coldingham and the Red Lion at Reston. You can purchase local produce from the Reivers Farm Food, Oxford Farm Shop and the fish market at Eyemouth for local sea food.
